Formed and started operations in April 2002, when Peter Ansdell retired early from Boeing, Seattle to look after his wife Jenny, who had cancer and later passed away in Swedish Hospital, Seattle. Peter downloaded a large database he had been maintaining for the previous seven years at Boeing, so he could keep in touch with the developments and progress of the jet aviation industry.
Peter in the past had worked in England in commercial and military jet aviation for the British Aircraft Corporation at Warton, Lancashire and also in North Wales (which later became the airplane plant that was soon (as it continues to remain) to be responsible for all the wings of Airbus airplanes). When he first came to Seattle, where he was involved with 727, 737, 747, 757, and 767 design work, it was relatively soon after, he left the area to take other jobs in the airline industry, spending 10 years working for Continental Airlines (CAL) who at the time were based in Los Angeles and later for Air New Zealand (ANZ) who are based in Auckland, NZ. He returned to Boeing later, and spent 24 years, working predominantly on the 747, 777, and 787, mostly in the Customer Engineering and later Maintenance Engineering roles which necessitated traveling all over the world to a wide range of airlines.
