June 2004: (AAR) Aircraft Services (AFD) contract to lease the Indianapolis Maintenance Center (IMC) at Indianapolis International Airport to expand its Airplane Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) capacity and capabilities "to meet increasing demand for outsourced, high-quality airplane maintenance services." Operations are scheduled to begin in 3rd Quarter 2004. The 1.6 million sq ft facility was formerly operated by United Airlines (UAL).

As part of the 10-year lease, (AAR) Aircraft Sales & Leasing (AFD) will receive a series of financial incentives that including grants, credits, & start-up support. Its plan is to operate initially out of 2 hangar bays, with future plans to increase capacity to as many as 10 hangar bays during the lease period.

March 2005: United Airlines (UAL) selects (AAR) Aircraft Services, Indianapolis (AFD) as exclusive provider with 5-year heavy maintenance contract for all (UAL) 737's. (AAR) (AFD) will operate up to 4 maintenance lines at Indianapolis.

April 2007: (AAR) (AFD) announced the acquisition of Reebaire Aircraft, an Arkansas regional aircraft, Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) provider, that now operates under the name (AAR) Aircraft Services-Hot Springs. (AAR) (AFD) said the deal doubles its regional (MRO) capacity.

September 2008: (AAR) (AFD) was selected by United Airlines (UAL) to remarket and provide technical advisory services on (AFD)'s soon-to-be-retired fleet of 94 737 Classics. (AAR) (AFD) said it will help place the airplanes with airlines around the world, focusing on operators outside the USA.

January 2009: AAR (AFD) named Dave Cann VP Regulatory Compliance. He was head of the USA (FAA)'s Flight Standards Service, Aircraft Maintenance Division until his retirement 1 year ago.

February 2009: (AAR) Corporation (ALC) was forced to shut down operations at its Miami landing gear repair station after the (FAA) issued an Emergency Order of Suspension to the company's Landing Gear Services subsidiary, which generates about 6% of the Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) provider's revenue. (ALC) said it has been "in regular communication" with the (FAA) since July 2008, when the regulator issued a "notice of alleged discrepancies" following an inspection of the Miami facilities. "(ALC) was in the process of responding to that request when it received the order of suspension," (ALC) said. Chairman & (CEO) David Storch added, "We have worked diligently with the (FAA) over the past year to respond to its concerns. We remain committed to resolving this matter as expeditiously as possible."

June 2009: (AAR) (AFD) was selected by (IAI)'s Bedek Aviation Group to provide the cargo system for its 767-300 conversion program. (AFD) and (IAI) developed a (GMF) system for the 767-200 conversion in 2002.

January 2010: (AAR) (AFD) signed a 5-year deal with Allegiant Air (WJE) to provide maintenance and modification work on (WJE)'s 46 MD-80s.

(AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) signed a 2-year deal with Hawaiian Airlines (HWI) to provide 10-year checks on 12 (HWI) 717s. The work will be performed at (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC)'s Miami facility and will include repainting on certain airplanes.

September 2012: (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) received design approval from the USA (FAA) and (EASA) to perform custom interior modifications for 717-200 airplanes operated by an unnamed European airline. (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) will modify the airplanes from a 2-class configuration to a high-density 1-class configuration and will install slim line seats.

October 2012: (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Air Canada (ACN) to provide scheduled airframe maintenance and modifications on (ACN)ís A320 series airplanes.

November 2012: (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) will sell 10 737-400s to joint venture (JV) partner Malaysia Airlines (MAS). The 737-400s have been on lease to (MAS) since they were acquired by the (JV) in July 2007.

January 2013: The (AAR) Corporation announced its 188,000 sq ft Duluth Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facility is now operational and has completed and delivered its first airplane.

May 2013: (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) has retained consultant, Mike Axelrod of Grant Park Global to help the Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) expand in Latin America, especially Mexico and Colombia. (AAR) is focusing on public and private client acquisitions in Latin America.

(AAR) has also named John Fortson as its new (CFO) and VP Finance. Fortson is formerly Managing Director of Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

July 2013: (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) has been selected by (GE) Aviation (GEC) to retrofit main landing-gear door actuators on A318s, A319s, A320s and A321s with improved hydraulic actuators. (AFD)/(ALC), which will do the work at its landing gear facility in Miami, Florida with a 10-day turnaround time, works chiefly for airlines in North, Central and South America. (AFD)/(ALC) may eventually support airlines in Africa and Asia, since the actuator is easily shipped.

August 2013: (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) has modified cabins on 3 A319-100s flown by Bhutanís Drukair (DRU).

(AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) has signed a multi-year deal with Flybe (BEE) to provide wheels-and-brakes inventory for Bombardier Dash 8-Q400s. (AFD)/(ALC) has provided Flybe (BEE) with a large inventory of parts under a sale/leaseback agreement and will house an additional pool of high-demand wheels-and-brakes inventory in its Amsterdam warehouse.

(AAR) will open a new 520,000 sq ft/48,309 sq m maintenance facility in Lake Charles, Louisiana at Chennault International Airport. The maintenance center, which will be able to operate an airplane as large as an A380, will have space for up to 7 wide body or 10 narrow body airplanes. An 118,000 sq ft expansion will also be added to the building.

(AAR) will open the facility with a staff of 250 people and plans to add another +500 people to the facility by 2017. It has not specified a date for when the building will open.

The new maintenance center will be (AAR)'s 6th (MRO) facility, adding to existing locations in Indianapolis, Miami, Oklahoma City, Duluth, Minnesota, and Hot Springs, Arkansas. It also has an Engineering arm in Singapore and has signed a letter of intent (LOI) to form a commercial airplane maintenance center in Ulyanovsk, Russia.

(AAR) logged 4.6 million man-hours across its facilities in 2012, a +33% year-over-year increase from 2011.

October 2013: (AAR) ((AFD)/(ALC) has delivered 2 converted 737-400s to the US Marshals Services (JPATS) (USV) for transporting prisoners.

November 2013: (AAR) ((AFD)/(ALC)) has trained Aerolíneas Argentinas (ARG) Maintenance Technicians (MT) on landing-gear maintenance for Boeing 737NGs.

March 2014: (AAR) ((AFD)/(ALC)) has received (EASA) certification for wide body maintenance at its Lake Charles, Louisiana, facility. (AAR) has also has been awarded a 3-year contract from Irelandís Air Contractors (HCA) to provide component repair and management services for Boeing 757s.

(AAR) ((AFD)/(ALC)) has hired communications and government strategist, Kathleen Cantillon as Global Director of Communications and Reputation.

April 2014: (AAR) ((AFD)/(ALC)) will provide "C" checks on 3 of Aeromexico (AMX)ís Boeing 767s at its Indianapolis Maintenance Center. The contract is the 1st between (AAR) and Aeromexico (AMX).

June 2014: (AAR) ((AFD)/(ALC)) has become the 1st Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) operator to voluntarily share safety information with the (FAA)ís Aviation Safety Information Analysis & Sharing program.

March 2015: (AAR) (AFD) expects results for the 3rd quarter ended February 28 to come in below expectations due to lower flying positions and flight hours in airlift, $40 million pre-tax impairment for write-down of Precision Systems Manufacturing, $6 million pre-tax charge to reduce value of inventory and $2.5 million pre-tax charge for employee severance. (AAR) (AFD) expects a loss of -.73 to -.76 cents per share for the quarter.

February 2016: News Item A-1: (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) has expanded its power-by-the-hour part-inventory management and exchange program to Asia. (AAR) signed its 1st (PBH) contract with (IBEX) Airlines in support of Bombardier CRJs. (AAR) will manage the aircraft supply chain from an extensive CRJ parts inventory through its global warehouse network. The agreement includes management of the complete component repair cycle at a firm fixed price. (IBEX) will also have access to the (AAR) pool of inventory through exchanges and procurement. The program begins with 2 CRJ200s and will expand to nine in the coming months, including 7 CRJ700s. (AAR) has also signed an (MOU) with Korea Aerospace Industries, a military Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO), to work together to establish a commercial aircraft (MRO) in South Korea.

News Item A-2: (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) has been selected by Vision Systems to integrate Electronically Dimmable Windows (EDW) solutions for retrofit programs in Asia, Middle East, Africa, and North America.

(AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) and Vision Systems are partnering to develop customized solutions to replace the entire inside window including the casing and the dust panel. These systems have no moving parts as the electronics is fully integrated, reducing maintenance costs and downtime. They can be applied to flat or curved surfaces (2D, 3D), plastic or composite glass. The installation, wiring and Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) of Vision Systems' Electronically Dimmable Windows will be managed by (AAR),(AFD)/(ALC) as well as maintenance and customer support.

News Item A-3: (AAR), (AFD)/(ALC) has expanded and updated its hydraulic repair and overhaul facility at (AAR) Aircraft Component Services-Amsterdam. The renovation entailed significant investment in state-of-the-art testing equipment, a reconfiguration of the space and hiring additional personnel. These moves more than double the capacity of the facility to handle work on a longer list of parts, such as hydraulic pumps, flaps, thrust reverser and landing-gear actuators and flow-control and shutoff valves for Airbus (EDS), Boeing (TBC), Embraer (EMB), Bombardier (BMB) and other Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) aircraft.

April 2016: (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) named Jason Secore as Treasurer. He is former VP Finance & Corporate Treasurer for Republic Airways Holdings.

October 2016: (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) signed a 5-year agreement to provide power-by-the-hour component inventory management and repair services to South African Airways (SAA) Technical. The contract is valued up to $125 million.

January 2017: (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC) will provide repair-by-the-hour integrated component services to Allegiant Air (WJE)ís fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.

February 2017: (AAR) (AFD)/(ALC), an independent provider of aviation services to airlines, (OEM)s and (MRO)s, has opened a parts warehouse at Dubai World Central Airport.
