April 2015: Aruba Airlines (ARU) will begin nonstop service between Aruba and Miami on July 5th. (ARU) will operate 5x weekly on the route, said Miami International airport.

(ARU) operates 2 A320s.

(ARU) had applied to USA authorities to begin service to Florida with other USA markets to follow in late 2014.

(AAU) will compete against American Airlines (AAL), InselAir Aruba (INS) and Surinam Airways (SUR) on the route between Aruba and Miami.
Spirit Airlines (SPR) also offers nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale and Aruba.

July 2015: News Item A-1: Aruba Airlines (ARU) on July 3 introduced a new non-stop service to the USA. On that day (ARU) began operating between Aruba (AUA) and Miami (MIA) using an A320. Service on the 1,827 km route will operate 5x-weekly (daily except for Wednesdays and Saturdays). Competition will come from American Airlines (AAL) (21x-weekly flights), InselAir Aruba (INS) (daily flights) and Surinam Airways (SUR) (thrice-weekly flights). Aruba Airlines ((IATA) code AG) (ARU) began scheduled services in 2013 and currently operates two A320s on a network which includes Maracaibo, Panama City, and Valencia (the one in Venezuela).
