August 2014: On August 13 2014, Xiamen Air (XIA) and the Jiangxi Provincial Government signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding the establishment of Jiangxi Airlines (CJK) based in the Jiangxi province.
December 2014: Jiangxi Airlines (CJK) was granted its air operator's certificate (AOC) by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
April 2018: 737-800 (63688, B-1268) leased from Xiamen Airways (XIA).
March 2015: The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) granted Jiangxi Airlines (CJK) preliminary approval to begin operations.
January 2016: News Item A-1: Jiangxi Airlines ((IATA) code: RY, (ICAO) Code: CJK. (Call Sign - Air Crane)) (CJK), the Xiamen Airlines (XIA) and Jiangxi provincial government joint venture (JV), launched its inaugural flight on the Nanchang to Xiían to Urumqi route on January 29 using a 737-85C.
Jiangxi Airlines (CJK) has a registered capital of CNY2 billion/$325 million. Xiamen Airlines (XIA) holds a 60% stake (including airplanes and the assets of Xiamenís Nanchang Branch Company) and Jiangxi Aviation Investment Company, representing the Jiangxi provincial government, holds a 40% stake with a CNY800 million investment.
(CJK), the Nanchang-based carrier, which received its air operatorís certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on January 15 operates 2 737-85C airplanes and will take delivery of a 3rd at the end of March. It plans to expand its fleet to 5 airplanes at the end of 2016, and by 2020, plans to increase its fleet to 20 airplanes and transport 5.5 million passengers. By 2020 (CJK) plans to begin international flights.
(CJK) is expected to open more routes from Nanchang to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiían, Urumqi, Haikou, Chongqing, Guiyang, Xiamen, Chengdu and Kunming.
(CJK)'s later future plans include international routes to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and Korea.
