INDIA (REPUBLIC OF INDIA) WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1947, IT COVERS AN AREA OF 3,287,590 SQ KM, ITS POPULATION IS 970 MILLION, ITS CAPITAL CITY IS NEW DELHI, AND ITS OFFICIAL LANGUAGES ARE HINDI AND ENGLISH.
May 2009: Deccan 360 (DEC) is a cargo start-up established by the former Air Deccan (DCC) founder, G R Gopinath. It started service this month with an A310F freighter flight from Delhi to Hong Kong. It is also known as "Deccan Cargo & Express Logistics."
"(DEC) will be the first Indian company to create a hub-and-spoke distribution model in the express industry in India," parent company Deccan Express Logistics (DEL) said. "(DEC)'s air and surface network will offer unmatched, next-day connectivity to more than >85% of the Indian Gross Domestic product (GDP)." (DEC) reportedly will add more A310Fs later this year, "Our plans for the future include expanding our network to 95% of India's (GDP) and spreading our reach to the international market via the Middle East and Southeast Asia," (DEC) said.
June 2010: Deccan 360 (DEC) is an express transportation and logistics company. (DEC)'s transportation network supports an extensive service portfolio, catering to different express transportation needs of industry verticals that include:
Captain Gopinath’s vision for Deccan 360:
An express cargo and logistics network which will bridge the gap between markets and consumers, metros and the hinterland, creating opportunities for people across regions to generate economic and social value at every level.
For India to become an economic powerhouse, opportunities and markets have to spread across every part of the country - from Delhi and Bangalore to small towns like Rajkot, Zirakpur and Tirupur. Currently, over >2% of India's (GDP) is either lost or wasted in the absence of storage and cargo delivery facilities. Unlike the West or even other (BRIC) nations such as China, manufacturers in smaller cities, traders in interior areas, and farmers in villages and on cash crop plantations are unable to compete in the international market because of the limiting conditions of transportation and connectivity. If, as a nation, we focus on infrastructural development and include every one of the billion Indians to participate in this revolution, air cargo and passenger traffic will show a strong positive growth. We have some way to go before we stake claim to be called a developed nation. If you want to live in Chikmagalur, you should be able to stay there not only for your weekends, but also to conduct your daily business with the facility of education, electricity, roads, airports and Internet cafes. To achieve this dream, cargo connectivity has to be embedded into the system - and that’s where Deccan 360 (DEC) chips in.
Deccan 360 (DEC) uses a host of the latest technologies to reduce cost and save time, providing its clients an opportunity to access the only logistical company to reach 47 cities in 24 hours."
