Kazakhstan (Republic of Kazakhstan) was established in 1991, covers an area of 2,717,300 sq km, its population is 19 million, and its capital city is Astana. The official language is Kazak.
Kazakhstan, located between Russia and China, is a vast and boundless nation with unlimited natural resources and potential. It is the world's ninth largest country in size, and the largest of the Central Asia states of the former (USSR); it is equivalent to the size of Western Europe. Kazakhstan holds about four billion tons of proven recoverable oil reserves. The Gross National Product (GNP) is expected to triple by 2015.

October 2003: Deta Air (DET) was founded and established as a tour operator.
July 2004: Receives its own Air Operators Certificate (AOC).
January 2005: 1st IL-62M (UN-86524), Alpha Air leased.
December 2005: 1st charter flight, Almaty to Istanbul, Turkey.
June 2006: Il-62M (UN-86508) delivery.
July 2006: Increases frequency of flights to Turkey and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
August 2006: Il-62M (UN-86935), leased.
December 2006: First charter passenger flight to Bali (Indonesia).
September 2007: Flights to Kaunas and Ulan Bator.
October 2007: Charter passenger flights to Utapao (Thailand) and Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt).
December 2008: Agreement with Aeroflot (ARO) Cargo
April 2009: Starts regular scheduled flights on route Almaty - Urumqi - Karaganda - Istanbul - Almaty.
July 2009: Starts regular scheduled flights on route Almaty - Hong Kong - Almaty - Frankfurt - Istanbul - Almaty.
July 2009: Signed strategic cooperative agreement with Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI).
August 2009: Charter flight destinations: China; Georgia; Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Cargo side of the company develops flights connecting East Asia with Europe.

May 2011: Deta Air (DET) operates passenger and cargo charter jet airplane services from its base at Almaty and hub at Shymkent, primarily to destinations in the Baltics, China, the Far East, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Also operates regular passenger and cargo services linking Skymkent with Istanbul.
