August 2002: American Falcon Air (FAK) puchases Dinar (DIR) and assumes $30M debt. Because of the extreme financial difficulties in Argentina, Dinar (DIR) decided to sell the company to prevent further losses. The owners are expected to put all their interest in tourism, rather than an airline, during this difficult period. (FAK), on the other hand, is betting on the future and will take over (DIR)'s routes and assets (3 DC-9 airplanes). Their goal of starting scheduled flights has finally been realized.

September 2002: Dinar (DIR) ceases operations, because it was unable to secure additional funding from the USA, after a bank decision to call in debts. It had the $30M debt, when (DIR) was bought by Fatez Chehob, head of American Falcon (FAK) with a group of US investors.

October 2002: Dinar (DIR) has now been purchased by Segaya, and an investor group headed by Antonio Martinez Lopez, who manages LAER. The group, which has taken over (DIR)'s # AR$100M debt, expects to have the airline flying, later in the month.
