JAMES GAGGERO, CBE, CHAIRMAN (2002-12).
James has been Chairman of the airline since 2002 having been Deputy Chairman for 17 years. As Chairman, James has taken the airline into its new growth phase expanding the airline into Manchester and increasing the fleet size yet again. James is also Chairman of The Bland Group’s UK holiday and western Mediterranean companies; including Cadogan Travel, Cadogan Holidays and The Rock Hotel in Gibraltar. Outside of The Bland Group, James was elected the youngest President of the Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce in 1990 and he has served as a trustee of the Gibraltar Heritage Trust. More recently, he has headed up the national branch of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Gibraltar and he has served on various trade and government organisations including the Gibraltar Chief Minister’s Economic Advisory Council. Additionally, James is the Honorary Consul General for Sweden in Gibraltar where he leads the Consular Corps as its Doyen. He is a member of the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators and was appointed an Officer, First Class of the Royal Order of the Polar Star in 1999.

JOSEPH GAGGERO, PRESIDENT.
Joseph J Gaggero’s life has run in parallel to the development of the airline. He has over five decades of experience within civil aviation, travel and shipping. Joseph is Chairman of The Bland Group of companies, which includes GB Airways (GBA), Gibraltar’s Rock Hotel, Bland Travel and Cadogan holidays, having joined his father in the family business at the age of 20. From 1963, he was Managing Director of the airline and the family shipping and travel enterprise Bland and was responsible for the diversification and growth of the company geographically. Joseph became Chairman of GB Airways in 1970 and President in 2002. Joseph J Gaggero has also played a most significant role within the Gibraltarian business, charitable and cultural community as well as the wider travel industry. He is a member of the Guild of Air Pilots and Navigators, served on the Council of the British Travel Association among a long and varied roll-call of interests. In 1989, he was awarded the CBE by HM The Queen.

JOHN PATTERSON, MANAGING DIRECTOR, EX-(BAB) (1999-12).
John joined the airline in November 1999, and has been instrumental in the fast growth of the GB Airways (GBA) network since then. Under John’s steerage, the Airbus fleet replacement program has been completed, a further 10 routes have been launched successfully, the franchise agreement with British Airways (BAB) has been extended until 2010 and a new base in Manchester will open in May 2005. Prior to joining GB Airways (GBA), John spent 29 years with British Airways (BAB), where his roles included Director of Alliances, Director of Strategy, Director of Operational Performance and Head of Operations.
John is an avid supporter of the Sheffield Wednesday football club and is married with three children and a grandson.
