August 2011: Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SSJ) and Gazprom komplekt signed a contract firming an agreement of intent for 10 SuperJet 100/95LRs initially announced during the Farnborough Airshow last year. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2013, (SSJ) said. The airplanes will be operated by Gazprom subsidiary, GazpromAvia (GZP).

Coinciding with the airplane order, (GZP) signed a customer support agreement with PowerJet covering the 20 (SaM146)s powering its future SSJ100s. Under terms of the accord, PowerJet will provide product support, documentation, training, on-site support and engine warranties.

January 2012: Gazpromavia (GZP) has converted its Letter of Intent (LOI) into a final order for 10 SSJ 100-95s with deliveries expected to start next year.

November 2012: Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company is working with PowerJet to certify the long-range variant of its SSJ100, ahead of next year’s 1st delivery to Russian carrier, Gazpromavia Aviation (GZP).

The Moscow-based carrier, which has 10 long-range SSJ100s on order, operates passenger and cargo charters, mainly linked with the oil and gas industry. “The 1st delivery will be in the 2nd half of 2013, so certification has to arrive before then. Both the engine and also the airplanes have different modifications which need to be certified,” PowerJet (CEO) Jacques Desclaux said at the European Regions Airline Association General Assembly in Dublin.

Sukhoi will build 2 prototype airplanes for the test program. The 1st of these is due to be completed by the end of the year, Desclaux said. He added that a business jet version is also under development and will become the 3rd airplane in the family.

August 2013: Russia’s Interstate Aviation Committee has issued a supplemental type certificate (STC) for the Sukhoi Superjet SSJ100LR, certifying the long-range version of the Russian regional jet.

While the SSJ100’s maximum range is 3,048 km, the SSJ100LR has a maximum range of 4,578 km. Gazpromavia Aviation (GZP) is the launch customer for the SSJ100LR. First delivery is scheduled for the current quarter.

The SSJ100LR flight test program encompassed 115 flight hours on >60 flights. The SSJ100LR is powered by PowerJet (SaM146 1S18) engines that offer a +5% increased thrust over the (SaM146) engines used on the SSJ100.

Gazpromavia (GZP) has taken delivery of its 1st Sukhoi Superjet 100LR (SSJ100LR) airplane at the (MAKS) Airshow in Moscow, making it the 1st airline to receive the type.

July 2015: Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SSJ) delivered the 10th Sukhoi Superjet SSJ100 aircraft to Russia’s Gazpromavia (GZP). The SSJ100 will begin commercial operations after the registration of the airworthiness certificate.
