November 2007: HeavyLift International Airlines (HVI) will be exhibiting at the 2007 Dubai Air Show (http://www.dubaiairshow.org) this month. Please visit the (HVI) booth #W738 in the West Hall of the Expo Center.

(HVI) operates cargo flights for other airlines, providing (ACMI) (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) wet-lease services to commercial airlines and other freight operators on a service basis. The company's operations are currently based at Sharjah International Airport, but the airline is positioned to operate from any of the region's airports and currently conducts daily operations out of Bahrain. Additionally, the company will be opening new headquarters in 2007 at Dubai Logistics City, situated in the new Jebel Ali International Airport adjacent to the Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone.

(HVI) currently operates a fleet of two DC-8-63F freighters with an additional airplane currently scheduled to enter service during the coming year, bringing the fleet to 3 airplanes. The DC-8 fleet is Stage III noise compliant and meets the rigorous maintenance and safety standards which are required by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). These airplanes carry 40 tons of freight in up to 18 pallet positions at full payload for up to 8 hours, making it 1 of the workhorses of the worldwide cargo fleet.

(HVI), which provides (ACMI) wet-lease cargo services, announced the opening of the (RAK) Airways-(HVI) Training Academy at Ras Al Khaimah Airport. The joint venture between Sharjah-based (HVI) and (RAK) will contain four simulator bays, classrooms and offices, and is scheduled for certification later this month. (HVI) will be opening a new headquarters at Dubai Logistics City, located next to the new airport under construction at Jebel Ali. It operates 2 DC-8-63Fs and said it is planning "additional fleet enhancements" within the year.

During the coming year, (HVI) plans to introduce a new generation freighter to its fleet, the A300-600F, starting with two airplanes and eventually moving to a fleet of up to ten. This wide body freighter, produced by Airbus Industries (EDS), has a maximum payload of 55 tons of freight with a range of up to 3,650 nautical miles at full payload. This airplane will provide (HVI) and its airline clients with a modern fleet platform that is both cost effective and which meets the normal payload and sector requirements for the (UAE) market.
