October 2006: (ALTA) (formerly AITAL), the Latin American Air Transport Association, announced that three more airlines have joined the organization. Air Jamaica (JAM), Icaro (ICR) and Aerolitoral bring membership to 32 carriers.
September 2008: INCDT: An Icaro (ICR) F28-4000 (11222, HC-CDT), ran off the Quito Mariscal Sucre airport on takeoff, careening down a slope and came to rest near residential buildings, and destroying the Instrument Landing System (ILS). None of the 66 occupants were hurt according to local media. The (ILS) was destroyed less than a year ago in November 2007, when an Iberia (IBE) A340-642 (731, EC-JOH) overran the runway while landing. SEE ATTACHED - - "ICR-INCDT-2008-09."
June 2009: 737-290C (22577, HC-CFY), BCI Aircraft leased, ex-Alaska Airlines (ASA), ex-(N730AS).
October 2009: Icaro Air (ICR) operates domestic passenger services from its base in Quito to Coca; Cuenca; Guayaquil; Manta-Eloy Alfaro; and San Cristobal in the Galapgos islands. Also operates fixed wing and helicopter charter flights.
