November 2011: (IATA) Code: ZV. The Tajik government has disbanded the Aviation Company of Tajikistan OSHC (ACT) just 6 months after it was established. Founded in June last year, government had sought to use the firm to bring Tajik Air (7J, Dushanbe) and Dushanbe International Airport back under one umbrella holding company in a bid to improve operational and cost efficiencies at the 2 state-owned enterprises.
However, according to Central Asian Aero News, the firm was officially dissolved at the end of last month for reasons that remain unclear.
The failed merger has been linked to the dismissal of Tajik Air's former (CEO) Rustam Khalikov who last year criticised the Ministry of Transport for toying with the airline's finances. In a written submission to the Prosecutor’s Office, he obliquely stated that the Tajik Civil Aviation Department's policies, presumably the failed merger, had cost the airline TJS1.5 million (USD190,852).
Though Khalikov was sacked on January 27, a day after the ACT was officially wound up, his complaint is still being processed Minister of Transport Sherali Gandzhalzoda. Khalikov has since been replaced by Khairullo Rakhimov.

(IZG) had previously already operated some scheduled charter flights between 2005 and 2008. (ABE) now owns 50% of (IZG) with the other 50% owned by the Zagros Group, which is also active in construction, energy, Information Technology (IT), health and trade and 1 of the largest group of companies in the North of Iraq. Zagros (IZG) plans to add +2 more A321s and to use the airplanes for scheduled services from Erbil International (EBL) and Sulaymaniyah International (ISU) airports.

September 2012: Zagros Air (IZG) has returned its single A321-231 (1878, YI-AQU) to investor, Atlasjet Airlines (ABE) which owns 50% in (IZG). It does not currently operate any of its own airplanes any more, but it is assumed that it still continues to operate some charter flights with wet-leased airplanes as it used to, prior to taking delivery of its single airplane.
January 2013: Atlasjet Airlines ((IATA) Code: KK, based at Antalya (AYT)) has confirmed further details of its plans to launch new subsidiaries in Iraq and South Sudan later this year. According to Zagros Air (Iraq) ((IATA) Code: ZV, based at Erbil International (EBL)) (IZG) Managing Director Can Akcay, Atlasjet (ABE)'s joint venture (JV) carrier with the Zagros Group plans to launch operations from Erbil in spring with 3 Airbus (EDS) airplanes after it had been unable to initially get an air operator certificate (AOC) last year due to a minimum fleet size rule put in place by the Iraqi Civil Aviation Administration. For the planned joint venture (JV) with the government of South Sudan, Atlasjet (ABE) is currently evaluating a fleet of either ATR 72 or DHC-8-400 turboprops.
June 2013: A321-231 (1878, YI-AQU), EX-(TC-ATO), AtlasJet (ABE) leased.
October 2013: Zagrosjet, a new carrier based at Erbil (EBL) in Iraq, has begun operating. Initially the airline will serve Adana (ADA) and Ankara (ESB) in Turkey, Beirut (BEY) in Lebanon, and Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) in Sweden.
Zagrosjet's 1st flight from Erbil to Stockholm Arlanda landed in the Swedish capital on October 11. The route will be served 2x-weekly, on Mondays and Fridays using (IZG)'s only airplane, an A321. SEE ATTACHED - - "IZG-A321 - 2013-10."

News Item A-2: Zagros Air ((IATA) Code: ZV, based at Abadan) (IZG) is in talks with various global aircraft manufacturers over the supply of urgently needed equipment needed to renew its heavily outdated fleet.
Airline chairman, Abdolreza Mousavi, told the "Tasnim News Agency" that talks are currently on with Airbus (EDS) and Embraer (EMB) over possible orders for aircraft.
“We are currently in direct negotiations with Airbus (EDS) for the supply of aircraft,” he said. “Airbus managers have promised us to propose their offers by the end of February.”
Given the lack of early delivery slots, Zagros Air (IZG), whose fleet consists of 1 A319-100, 9 A320-200s (2 of which are leased from Khors Aircompany ((IATA) Code: KO, based at Kiev Borispol)) (KHO), 5 MD-82s, and 3 MD-83s, is urgently looking for Airbus (EDS) jets that are between 2 and 5 years old, Mousavi added.
Talks with (EMB) are also ongoing though no details concerning (IZG)'s requirements were disclosed.
July 2016: A320-212 (426, EP-ZAU), ex-(UR-CNK) was leased from Khors Air (KHO).
