November 2002: (JTA) recently invested in state-of-the-art computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines for its completions dept. The new automated machines form, cut and bend honeycomb, plywood and sheet metal. Thomas Rechsteiner, Head of Production, reports the machine is in operation 16 hours/day to fabricate wood or honeycomb panels for parts of bulkheads or cabinets. With this new machine, the work steps needed in the process for parts fabrication of numerous parts, has been reduced from several, to only two.
(JTA) is one of the primary Boeing BBJ outfitting centers and performs all levels of maintenance on airplanes from numerous manufacturers. The Basel location is an (FAA) Authorized Repair Station (No. QV1Y440K) as well as a (JAA) repair station and holds 27 worldwide airworthiness approvals.

March 2007: Heinz Kohli, (COO) quits after nearly 32 years on the management team of Jet Aviation (JTA). Carl Hirschmann, son of the founder of (JTA) and the only family member to have a stake in the company and a seat on the board, will succeed Kohli on an interim basis.
November 2007: Dnata, the Dubai-based airport services provider, said that it has acquired Jet Aviation Handling, the airport handling division of Switzerland-based Jet Aviation Group (JTA). Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquired company will be Dnata's first airport handling business in Europe and is "consistent with its strategy of developing an international network," it said in a statement. With the buy, Dnata now has handling operations at 16 airports in seven countries: Australia, Singapore, China, Pakistan, the Philippines, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Jet Aviation Handling provides airline and cargo handling to more than >60 carriers at Zurich and Geneva. Its customers include British Airways (BAB), Air France (AFA)/(KLM), Emirates (EAD), Etihad (EHD), Qatar Airways (QTA), and Air Berlin (BER). It employs about 1,100 workers across the two airports. "The sale by Jet Aviation Group (JTA) reflects its strategy to focus on its core activities in the private and business aviation sector," Dnata said.
March 2008: Jet Aviation Handling will be re-branded as "Dnata Switzerland." The new name follows the acquisition of the Swiss airport services provider by Dnata in November 2007.

January 2011: Jet Aviation (JTA)/(JVA) has promoted Don Haloburdo to VP & General Manager of its Flight Services division, which is the airplane management and charter arm of the company in the Americas. Haloburdo has served in a variety of roles during his decade-long tenure with Jet Aviation (JVA), including Gulfstream Captain and Chief Pilot. He was most recently VP Flight Operations.
February 2012: Rockwell Collins, the first company to bring high-definition (HD) entertainment solutions to business jets, has been selected by Jet Aviation Basel (JVA) to retrofit its Venue™ HD cabin management system on a narrow body Boeing 737 Business Jet (BBJ2).
The Venue retrofit on Jet Aviation (JTA)’s 737 BBJ2 will mark the first BBJ to be equipped with the system’s newest enhancements, including:
Touch-screen displays that simplify cabin control and present HD video:
* An intuitive, personal 10.6” HD touch-screen monitor allows passengers to easily control cabin functions and view entertainment right from their seat.
* A 10.6” HD galley touch-screen monitor allows flight attendants (CA) to easily manage Venue’s entertainment and environmental settings.
Touch-screen personal seat controls:
* An easy-to-use 4” personal programable switch panel incorporates a touch-enabled (LED) backlit screen that supports swipes and gestures to select lights and audio/video content. The touch-screen switch can be dynamically changed on the fly to function as a (VIP) switch and can display flight information such as time to destination and local time.

March 2012: Jet Aviation (JTA) named Gary Dolski as the new VP & General Manager of the company’s Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) and fixed based operations (FBO) facility in Singapore, with responsibility for the Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur facilities. Dolski joins (JTA) from (MD) Helicopters, where he served as VP Customer Support.
