September 2012: Egyptair (EGP) Maintenance & Engineering completed a 2A-check for a Midwest (MWA) 737-800.
October 2012: Midwest Airlines (MWA) has published schedules for its first own scheduled flights from early January. It currently operates both of its 737-800s on a long term wet-lease agreement with Shaheen Air International (SHK) that is scheduled to end after the end of this year's Hajj charter season. Midwest (MWA) then plans to operate scheduled daily flights from Alexandria Borg el Arab International (HBE) to Benghazi Benina (BEN), Jeddah King Abdul Aziz (JED) and Yanbu (YNB) and from Cairo International (CAI) to Gassim (ELQ), Taif (TIF), and Yanbu (YNB).
February 2013: Midwest Airlines (Egypt) ((IATA) Code: WV, based at Cairo International (CAI)) (MWA) has given up plans to launch scheduled services from Alexandria Borg el Arab International (HBE) and Cairo International (CAI) later this year, and will instead continue to concentrate on charter and (ACMI) wet-lease services. It currently operates one of its two 737-800s on domestic charter services and offers its other airplanes for (ACMI) wet-lease services. (MWA) had previously operated both airplanes on behalf of Shaheen Air International ((IATA) Code: NL, based at Karachi Quaid-e-Azam Jinnah International (KHI)) (SHK) on a long-term wet-lease contract.
April 2013: Star Navigation Systems received supplementary type certificate validation from the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority to install its in-flight safety monitoring system (STAR-ISMS) aboard a Midwest Airlines (MWA) 737-800.
