BRAZIL (FEDERATIVE REPUBLIC OF BRAZIL) WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1822, IT COVERS AN AREA OF 8,511,965 SQ KM, ITS POPULATION IS 165 MILLION, ITS CAPITAL CITY IS BRASILIA, AND ITS OFFICIAL LANGUAGE IS PORTUGESE.
June 2010: Established as a joint venture (JV) between Brazilian tour operator, (VIP) Club Tur and Omni Aviation Group, owner of White Airways (YES), Portugal.
March 2013: Brazilian charter operator, Whitejets has undergone a name and business model change. The airline's current fleet consists of only 1 Airbus A320 in 174Y configuration, but the company is expected to receive additional airplanes soon. While awaiting authorization to start regular scheduled service, the plan consists of "regular charter" flights, to begin on April 16th.
To help make the regular services a reality, (POB) is expected to receive +4 additional airframes: 1 Boeing 737-300, 1 Boeing 737-400, 1 Boeing 767-200 and 1 Boeing 767-300. The 4 airplanes will join the already operating A320. The company's 1st route will be (MAO) - (BSB) - (GIG) - (GRU), leaving Manaus at 0644 and departing Sao Paulo at 1530. This schedule will operate Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On weekends, the flight will be (MAO) - (RIO), departing (MAO) at 0630 and returning from Rio at 2300. These routes will be on A320.
The 737-300 is expected to arrive later this month, and will operate (CNF) - (BSB) - (CGR). In April, the 737-400 will arrive, and start service in the (GIG) - (CNF) - (NAT) - (FOR) route. The 767-200 and 767-300 will arrive in May and June, respectively, and will operate charter flights to (MCO) during the USA summer high season.
According to (POB)'s Commercial Manager, Eliane Silva, the goal is to enter the market with competitive pricing, with prices beginning at R$599 for the (MAO) - (GIG) route and R$189 on the (BSB) - (GRU) route, for example.
October 2013: Changed its name from Whitejets to POPBrasil (POB) ("a more Brazilian name"). Plans to adopt a different business model and become a regular charter carrier.
November 2013: POPBrasil (POB) is a charter specialist operating exclusively for Brazilian tour operators to holiday destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean.
