April 2017: Royal Wings (RYW) has added a scheduled 2x-weekly service between Aqaba and Cairo. The Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJA) subsidiary will operate the flights, which launched on April 21 and are run in conjunction with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) on Tuesdays and Fridays.
"This new service between Aqaba and Cairo is part of the Royal Wings' effort to strengthen Aqaba's position on the commercial and international tourism map. This route is expected to revive tourism, a priority for (ASEZA). Royal Wings (RYW) already serves Beirut from Aqaba.
