LITHUANIA WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1990 AND COVERS AN AREA OF 65,200 SQ KM. ITS POPULATION IS 3.8 MILLION, ITS CAPITAL CITY IS VILNIUS, AND ITS OFFICIAL LANGUAGE IS LITHUANIAN.
April 2007: "HC Airways" received its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) and launched air transport operations with a fleet of Hawker 800 XPs.
April 2009: Star1 Airlines (ST1) was established when its holding company "Star Team Group" purchased "HC Airways" for the purpose of promoting and developing the inbound and outbound tourism in Lithuania. The Star Team Group also manages tour operator "Star Holidays."
June 2009: 737-73S (29083, LY-STG), ex-Hamburg International (HAU), Pembroke (PEM) leased, to be used for charter flights. Plans for start-up of scheduled low-cost flights linking Vilnius with London, Dublin, Paris, Milan, and Barcelona next month. (ST1) plans to add flights to Milan and Paris alongside offering charter connections to popular Greek and Turkish resorts for sister company Star Holidays.
August 2009: In the first six weeks of operations, Star1 Airlines (ST1) carried 8,993 passengers with an 80% LF load factor.
January 2010: Star1 Airlines (ST1), which launched scheduled services in July, said revenue in its first six months of operation reached LTL28 million/$11.4 million and that it carried 36,000 passengers on routes to London Stansted, Milan Malpensa, Dublin, and Girona. (ST1) said its market share at Vilnius International reached 5%. Load factor was 69% LF. (ST1) operates a single 148-seat 737-700 on scheduled routes. It also flies charters.
August 2010: As Lithuania's new national flag carrier, Star1 Airlines (ST1) operates scheduled services to London, Dublin, Girona (for Barcelona), Edinburgh, and Milan, in addition to charter flights to Egypt, Tunisia, Turkey, and the Canary Islands on behalf of tour operators.

Vilnius - Munich: 2x weekly 737-700 service starting on November 15;
Vilnius - Palermo: weekly seasonal 737-700 service until August 28.
