ACCDT: (TCL) L-100-30 (4472, S9-BAS) written-off (W/O) with irrepairable damage when its fuselage broke in two aft of the wing following a hard landing at Lokichoggio Airport in Sudan. Part of the 1800-meter runway had been blocked due to an earlier landing incident involving a B Ae 748 (5Y-SFE) with a collapsed landing gear resting on its belly, and so the Hercules was attempting to put down on the remaining length of runway. All those on board survived.

July 2006: ACCDT: TransAfrik International (TCL) L-100-30 Hercules (4586, /75 S9-BOF), was destroyed on July 12th when it crashed during its second landing attempt at Kigoma Airport in Tanzania, after aborting its first approach. According to reports, the airplane descended at high speed and crashed about 300 metres to the left of Runway 16. At the time of the accident, the Hercules freighter was operating a flight from Manono Airport in Congo-Kinshasa on behalf of the United Nations (UN). The five crew (FC) aboard survived.

October 2007: Transafrik International (TCL) operates mainly in Africa, specializing in humanitarian aid, jet airplane flights and transporting fuel for the United Nations (UN). Large cargo is transported sometimes under difficult conditions. Medical-evacuation flights are also undertaken.
