July 2006: Beirut International Airport was closed to air traffic indefinitely following bombing by Israeli fighter jets in response to a Hezbollah raid from Lebanon into northern Israel. Two runways reportedly sustained heavy damage. Airlines throughout the region cancelled flights to Lebanon's capital and Lebanese carrier Middle East Airlines (MEA) reportedly diverted planes to Cyprus. The bombing did not damage any airplanes or the airport's terminal.

September 2006: The Israeli government lifted the air and sea blockade of Lebanon, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's office. International forces will monitor the airports and coastline. Several airlines, including Qatar Airways (QTA), Gulf Air (GUL), and British Airways (BAB), had expressed concern over the lack of access to Beirut and declared their intentions to fly there despite restrictions.

December 2009: TMA Cargo (TMA) is to relaunch operations with 737-300Fs and A300-600F freighters. The announcement was made by the Lebanese Public Works & Transport Minister during the inauguration of (TMA)'s new cold storage facilities at Beirut's Rafik Hariri International airport on October 22nd. (TMA)'s new corporate identity was unveiled at the same time.

(TMA) was purchased for the nominal sum of one USA dollar by new owner Mazen Bissat, who has pledged to settle all (TMA)'s debts, including funds owed by (TMA) to the state.

November 2012: TMA Cargo (TMA) has agreed with Portuguese wet-lease (ACMI) specialist, euroAtlantic Airways (MAE) to wet-lease (MAE)'s single freighter, 767-375BDSF (24086, CS-TLZ), for one year starting December 2012. (TMA) currently operates a single A300-600F (872, OD-TMA).
