June 2006: INCDT: A Trade Winds (TWX) 747-2U3F (22768, N922FT) bound for Miami aborted its takeoff at the Medellin Jose Maria Cordova Airport (Colombia) on June 7 around 0700 because of an engine failure. The airplane could not be brought to a stop in the remaining length of the 3,500 m long runway, then overran the runway by about 150 meters into a field and was severely damaged as a result. The nose gear was sheared off completely. No injuries of the 5 crew members on board.
