April 2011: Architectural firm "Woods Bagot" has been awarded a contract to build a brand new terminal at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan. Together with "Buro Happold," it will also rebuild and extend the airport's main facilities. This includes an air traffic control (ATC) tower, and the Presidential building as well as reconfiguring and refurbishing the existing terminal.
