April 2015: Bahrain-based, Texel Air (XLR) is a start-up cargo carrier offering regional and international cargo flights with 737-300Fs. (XLR) started operations early this year and operates in the wet-lease (ACMI) and charter markets. (XLR) also offers Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) line maintenance services at the Bahrain International Airport for 3rd parties.
(XLR) handles a wide range of missions, including handling dangerous goods, live animals (including grooms), fuel and perishable goods throughout the Gulf region. Its Engineering team consisting of maintenance technicians (MT) can troubleshoot and rectify technical issues on Airbus A300-B4, A300-600, A320, A330 and Boeing 737, 747, 757 and 767 airplanes. (XLR) flight crew (FC) come from the USA, Europe and New Zealand and have extensive flight experience operating to the highest safety standards.
(XLR)'s hangar and office facility is located on the northern side of Bahrain International Airport. Occupying 3,200 sq m, the hangar bay and offices are designed to accommodate narrow body airplanes up to and including the Boeing 757-300. Modern office facilities are available for staff and guests.
The hangar facility is equipped with Bahrainís only portable adjustable wing docking station, a variety of jacks, tow-bars, portable air-movement fans, as well as portable air-conditioning. This facility is connected with state-of-the-art high-speed fiber optic internet and telephone services as well as a 24 hour digital security system to continuously monitor movement in and around the hangar area.
